The Acebeam L19 2.0 and the Acebeam T29 look like the same idea. Both run on one 21700 battery, both have a tactical tail switch that fires Turbo instantly, both are IP68 with a 1.5-metre drop rating, and both cost less than AED 500. Both are throwers, built to put a small, intense spot of light far away rather than light up everything around you.
They are not the same light, though. One of them reaches 317 metres further, and the other is shorter, cheaper and has a mode the first one doesn't. Here is how they actually compare.
The short answer
Buy the T29 if reach is the job. It is rated at 1,400 metres against 1,083, and it keeps that lead after Turbo steps down: on High it still reaches 856 metres for just over two hours. It's AED 449.
Buy the L19 2.0 if you want the smaller, cheaper light and a kilometre of reach is already more than you need. It's 31 mm shorter, it has a 1-lumen moonlight mode that runs for 62 days, and it's AED 332 at Lumens until 8 October (normally AED 369).
One number to get right first
You may see the L19 2.0 quoted at 1,300 or even 1,520 metres. Acebeam makes the L19 2.0 with three different LEDs, and those two figures belong to the Osram white and Osram green versions. The version we stock in the UAE uses the Luminus SFT40 HI (6500K), and Acebeam rates it at 2,200 lumens, 1,083 metres and 293,222 candela. Every L19 2.0 figure in this article is for that version.

Why the T29 reaches further
The T29 makes more lumens, but that isn't the main reason it wins on distance. Reach is decided by intensity (candela), and the T29 is rated at 490,000 cd against the L19 2.0's 293,222. That's the bigger head and deeper reflector at work: 66 mm against 60 mm, focusing the light into a tighter column.
You can see it in the mid modes, where the lumens are close. On Med 2 the L19 2.0 actually makes more light, 630 lumens against 550, yet the T29 still reaches further, 569 metres against 554. On Low it's the same story: 100 lumens against 80, and the T29 reaches 232 metres against 223. In every matched mode, the T29 sends its light further. Our lumens vs candela explainer covers why that happens.
After Turbo: the gap that matters
Neither light holds its top number for long. The L19 2.0 gives you 2,200 lumens for 1 minute 50 seconds, then 1,600 lumens for 10 minutes, then settles at 1,200. Acebeam lists the T29's Turbo as 2,900 falling to 1,150 lumens, with the runtime written as "4 min ~ 1 h 50 min", which we read as roughly four minutes at the peak before the step-down.
So the fair comparison is where they both end up, at about 1,200 lumens each. There the T29 reaches 856 metres against 769, and runs for 2 hours 5 minutes against 1 hour 38 on High. For a long search, that's the number to buy on. We explain why every bright torch steps down in the turbo lumens article.
Where the L19 2.0 wins

- Size. 163.8 mm against 194.79 mm. The L19 2.0 fits a glovebox, a door pocket or a jacket more easily, and it's 284.3 g with its battery in.
- Moonlight. A 1-lumen mode that runs for 62 days. It's the setting for walking around a camp or checking a tent without blinding anyone. The T29's lowest mode is 12 lumens.
- Price. AED 332 until 8 October, AED 117 less than the T29. After the offer it's AED 369, still AED 80 less.
- Strike bezel. The L19 2.0's bezel doubles as a glass breaker, which is a reasonable thing to have in a car kit.
And 1,083 metres is still a long way. Most people who buy a thrower never need to see a full kilometre. Our how far do you actually need to see guide helps you work out whether you're paying for reach you'll use.
Charging and batteries
The two lights charge differently. The L19 2.0 comes with an Acebeam 21700 that has USB-C charging built into the cell. The T29 has a hidden USB-C port on the light itself, and Acebeam says a full charge takes about 2.5 hours. Both take a standard 21700, so a spare cell is the simplest way to double your runtime on a long night. Our guide to carrying spare batteries covers how to do it safely.
Who should buy which
- Search, open desert, long perimeters, spotting from a boat: the T29. The extra reach, both at peak and after the step-down, is the whole point. It fits well in a 4×4 recovery kit.
- A car or camping light that can also reach a kilometre: the L19 2.0. Smaller, cheaper, and the moonlight mode makes it useful at close range too.
- Mostly close-range use: neither. A thrower lights one bright circle and very little around it. Our flood vs throw guide explains the difference.
If you want to compare the T29 with Acebeam's other throwers, we've set it against the P20 and P20 Mini and against the pocket-sized E10 2.0.
A note on UAE heat
A thrower on Turbo turns a lot of power into heat in a small head, and in a UAE summer both lights will step down sooner than the published times suggest. Don't leave either one, or its spare cells, in a parked car. Our summer heat guide has the details. Both are IP68, so dust and a sudden downpour aren't a problem.
Our verdict
The T29 is the better thrower. It reaches 317 metres further at its peak and 87 metres further once both lights have stepped down, and it runs longer on High. If distance is why you're buying, spend the extra.
The L19 2.0 is the better all-round carry. It's shorter, cheaper, has a proper moonlight mode, and 1,083 metres is more reach than most people will ever use.
Both are in stock in Dubai. The Acebeam T29 is AED 449 and the Acebeam L19 2.0 is AED 332 until 8 October. Both are over our AED 300 free-delivery line, delivery usually takes 1 to 3 days, cash on delivery is available across the UAE, and you have 14 days to return.
