Acebeam K75 2.0 long-range flashlight, the updated version of the original K75, sold in the UAE by Lumens

Updated 27 September 2026. Specs are Acebeam's published figures from its own product pages for both models; our price and stock checked on the day we published.

A customer messaged us this week asking for the original Acebeam K75. We don't stock it. We stock the K75 2.0, and his question was a fair one: what actually changed, and is the old one worth hunting down? Here is the side-by-side we sent him, expanded.

The short answer

The K75 2.0 is the better light for almost everyone. It reaches 2,716 metres against 2,500, makes 6,500 lumens against 6,300, takes a 1.5-metre drop instead of 1 metre, and comes with its four 18650 batteries in the box. The original K75 still has two things going for it: it's 89 grams lighter, and Acebeam made it with a red LED option. If you need neither of those, buy the 2.0. It's AED 1,249 at Lumens with free delivery across the UAE.

What changed: the LED, and where the light goes

Acebeam swapped the Luminus SBT-90 GEN2 for the Luminus SFT-90X. The headline numbers moved only a little, 200 more lumens and 216 more metres, but the change shows up more clearly in the everyday modes. On High, both lights make exactly 2,500 lumens, yet the 2.0 reaches 1,593 metres against 1,496. The same lumens are packed into a tighter, more intense beam, and intensity (candela) is what decides reach. Our lumens vs candela explainer covers why.

The low end improved too. Both lights have a Low mode rated for 31 hours, and the 2.0 gives 180 lumens in it against 120. That's the mode you'd leave on while walking back to the car.

One honest oddity from Acebeam's own tables: in ECO mode's Mid 2 setting, both make 600 lumens, but the original is rated further, at 871 metres against 778. In every other matched mode the 2.0 reaches further. We're reporting the tables as published, not smoothing them over.

The Turbo line: the 2.0 isn't dimmer, it's more honest

Read the two spec sheets quickly and the original looks better on stamina: 6,300 lumens for 1 hour 45 minutes, against the 2.0's 6,500 lumens for one minute. That's a misreading. No torch this size holds 6,300 lumens for 105 minutes; the heat alone makes it impossible. The original's sheet simply doesn't show the step-down. The 2.0's sheet does: about one minute at 6,500, then 3,100 lumens for the rest of the run, which Acebeam still rates at around 1.8 km of reach.

We timed this behaviour across every torch we sell in the turbo lumens article. The practical rule is the same for both K75s: buy it for the sustained beam, and treat the peak as a short burst for when you need to look further.

Batteries in the box: the difference you feel on day one

The 2.0 ships with four 18650 cells. The original, on Acebeam's own store, is sold without them, and Acebeam notes that its POWER and ECO modes need four high-drain 18650s that can deliver at least 10 amps. Cheap cells won't do. In the UAE that means ordering the right cells separately and waiting for them, or risking a light that won't reach its rated output. With the 2.0 you charge the included cells and go.

Four loose 18650s are also four things to carry safely. Keep spares in a case, never loose in a bag with keys. Our guide to carrying spare batteries explains why, and our batteries guide covers why the cell decides your lumens.

Where the original still wins

  • Weight. 843.8 g against 932.9 g, both without batteries. Once four 18650s go in, both weigh more than a kilogram, so neither is a light you hold at arm's length for long. The difference is noticeable on a long search, less so on a short one.
  • A red LED version. Acebeam built the original K75 with a red emitter option, rated at 1,650 lumens and 1,208 metres. Red matters to some hunters and to anyone who wants to keep their night vision. The 2.0 comes in cool white only.

If you specifically need a red long-range light, tell us. We're an authorised Acebeam distributor and can ask Acebeam about availability. For everything else, the 2.0 is the one to own.

Who should buy a K75 at all?

Either K75 is a specialist. It's built for distances measured in kilometres: search and rescue in open desert, spotting across a wadi from a ridgeline at Hatta, scanning a coastline from a boat, or identifying an animal across open ground. For a campsite, a garden or a car kit, it's too much light and too much weight. Our how far do you actually need to see guide helps you size the job first.

If you do need the reach, compare the K75 2.0 with the other big lights we stock in our K75 2.0 vs X25 vs X75 comparison. The X25 and X75 put out far more lumens and still reach less far, because they spread their light wide.

A note on UAE heat

Four lithium-ion cells and a kilogram of aluminium don't belong in a parked car in July. Carry the light in, charge the cells indoors, and read our summer heat guide before a desert trip. Both K75s are IP68 rated to 2 metres, so dust and a sudden downpour on the coast aren't a problem.

Our verdict

Buy the K75 2.0. It reaches further, is brighter in the modes you'll actually use, takes a harder knock, and arrives ready with its batteries. Look for an original K75 only if you want the red LED version or every gram counts.

The Acebeam K75 2.0 is AED 1,249 at Lumens, in stock in Dubai. That's over our AED 300 free-delivery line, delivery usually takes 1 to 3 days, cash on delivery is available across the UAE, and you have 14 days to return. For the full hands-on detail, read our K75 2.0 review.
