"How much is a good torch light?" is one of the questions we get most, usually from someone who has just seen a "100,000 lumen" torch online for AED 30. The honest answer is that genuine torch lights in the UAE run from about AED 60 to over AED 2,500, and most people are best served somewhere between AED 150 and AED 400. Here is what each budget actually buys, using the real prices of every light we have in stock.
The short answer
| Budget | What you get | Our pick |
|---|---|---|
| Under AED 100 | Keychain and backup lights, 50 to 200 lumens | Olight i1R 2 Pro, AED 95 |
| AED 100 to 200 | Your first proper torch, 200 to 1,600 lumens, often on AA or AAA | Acebeam TAC 2AA, AED 152 |
| AED 200 to 400 | The sweet spot: 1,000 to 4,500 lumens, rechargeable, real runtime | Olight Baton 4, AED 210, or Acebeam E75, AED 399 |
| AED 400 to 700 | Duty, patrol and search lights, 1 km reach or 5,000+ lumens | Acebeam L35 2.0, AED 499, or T29, AED 449 |
| AED 700 and up | Searchlights for kilometres, or 10,000 to 80,000 lumens | Acebeam K75 2.0, AED 1,249 |
Under AED 100: keychain and backup lights
At this price you're buying a small light for your keys, a bag or a drawer. Expect 50 to 200 lumens: enough for a car park, a stairwell or finding something under a seat, not enough to light a campsite.
- Olight imini 2, AED 58 (on offer, normally 65): 50 lumens, rechargeable, the smallest light we sell.
- Olight i3E EOS, AED 59: 90 lumens on one AAA battery, IPX8. Nothing to charge.
- Olight Sphere C, AED 75: not a torch but a 360° ambient light for a room, a tent or a power cut.
- Olight i1R 2 Pro, AED 95: 180 lumens, USB-C rechargeable. Our pick, because it holds its output steadily rather than dropping after a burst.

AED 100 to 200: your first proper torch
This is where a torch becomes a tool. You get 200 to 1,600 lumens and real reach, and several of these run on AA or AAA batteries you can buy at any supermarket, which is handy for a car or an emergency kit.
- Olight i3T 2 EOS, AED 109: 200 lumens on one AAA, IPX8, 42 g.
- Acebeam Pokelit AA, AED 128.17: 550 lumens, 86 m, high-CRI light for seeing true colours.
- Acebeam TAC AA 2.0, AED 147: 1,000 lumens with its included rechargeable cell.
- Acebeam TAC 2AA, AED 152 (on offer, normally 169): 1,600 lumens on its included Li-ion cell, and it still runs on 2 × AA when that's all you have. Our pick for a car or a home emergency drawer.
- Olight Oclip Pro, AED 159: 500-lumen clip light with flood, spot and red, USB-C.
- Loop Gear LOOPDOT, AED 199: 400 lumens, 100 m, a design piece as much as a torch.
Our budget EDC guide compares these in more detail.
AED 200 to 400: the sweet spot
For most people this is the right budget. Every light here is rechargeable, makes 1,000 lumens or more, and holds a useful level for an hour or longer after the first burst. It's also the most crowded part of our range, so pick by job:
- Pocket carry: Olight Baton 4, AED 210 (1,300 lumens, 63 mm long), or the bigger Baton 4 Pro, AED 369 (1,600 lumens, dual switch). The Baton 3 Pro Max, AED 377, gives 2,500 lumens in a wide beam.
- Reach from a small light: Acebeam E10 2.0, AED 249: 1,200 lumens thrown 715 m. For more, the Acebeam L19 2.0 is AED 332 on offer until 8 October (normally 369): 2,200 lumens, 1,083 m.
- Most light for the money: Acebeam E75, AED 399: 4,500 lumens, then 1,500 for about 1 h 45 min, on a 21700 cell that charges by USB-C.
- Hands free: headlamps from AED 229 (Olight Perun 2 Mini, 1,100 lumens, 54 g) through AED 307 (Acebeam H35, 2,600 lumens) and AED 369 (Olight Perun 3, 3,000 lumens) to AED 389 (Acebeam H30, 4,000 lumens). See our headlamp guide.
- UV: Acebeam K1, AED 269: 1,000 lumens white plus a 365 nm UV light.
- Pen lights: Olight O'Pen 3, AED 340 on offer (normally 378), with a green laser, and the O'Pen Glow, AED 378. You're paying for a writing pen with a 120-lumen light, not for brightness.
AED 400 to 700: duty, patrol and search
Above AED 400 you're paying for a specific job: a kilometre of reach, 5,000 lumens or more, a tougher build, or a premium material.
- Long reach: Acebeam T29, AED 449 (2,900 lumens, 1,400 m) and P20 Mini, AED 489 (4,000 lumens, 1,035 m).
- Duty and patrol: Acebeam L35 2.0, AED 499 (5,000 lumens, IP68 to 5 m, strike bezel) and Olight Seeker 4 Pro, AED 510 on offer (normally 567; 4,600 lumens).
- The most lumens under AED 1,000: Acebeam X20-R, AED 519: 10,000 lumens from eight LEDs, then 2,400 for about 80 minutes.
- Premium pocket lights: Olight ArkPro, AED 450 on offer until 8 October (normally 500); Baton Ultra, AED 499 (1,800 lumens, 300 m); Loop Gear SK05 Pro 2, AED 599 (5,000 lumens); Olight Seeker Ultra, AED 669 (4,800 lumens).
- Diving: Acebeam D20 2.0, AED 449, and D30, AED 699. Dive lights are built for water and are priced for it.
AED 700 and up: searchlights
These are specialist tools for search and rescue, open desert, the coast and boats. They're big, heavy and usually overkill for anything else.
- Acebeam P20, AED 749: 5,600 lumens, 1,454 m.
- Olight Marauder Mini 2, AED 1,080: 10,000-lumen flood plus a 750 m spotlight in one head.
- Acebeam X25, AED 1,239: over 20,000 lumens with RGB signal modes.
- Acebeam K75 2.0, AED 1,249: 6,500 lumens thrown 2,716 m, the furthest-reaching light we sell.
- Acebeam X75, AED 2,540 on offer (normally 2,989): 80,000 lumens with a cooling fan.
Our long-throw and search guide helps you decide whether you really need one.
What more money actually buys
It's tempting to compare prices by peak lumens. That's the least useful comparison, because every torch holds its peak for only a minute or two before stepping down. What a higher price really buys is:
- More light that lasts. The E75 at AED 399 holds 1,500 lumens for nearly two hours; the Baton 4 at AED 210 holds about 300. Our turbo lumens table lists the sustained figure for every light we sell.
- Reach. Throwers like the T29 and K75 2.0 use bigger reflectors to put the light far away, not just make more of it.
- A bigger battery. 21700 cells hold far more than the 16340 cells in small pocket lights.
- Toughness. Published IP68 ratings, drop ratings and strike bezels cost money to build and test.
Why a "100,000 lumen" torch costs AED 30
Because it doesn't make 100,000 lumens. No-name torches print a big number on the box and nothing on the spec sheet you can check: no runtime, no candela, no IP rating, and a battery of unknown quality, which matters in UAE heat. A genuine torch publishes all of those. Our torch brands guide covers the fantasy-lumens problem, and this guide explains how to check you're buying the real thing.

FAQ
How much does a good torch light cost in the UAE?
A genuine, rechargeable torch good enough for the car, camping and power cuts costs about AED 200 to 400. The Olight Baton 4 at AED 210 and the Acebeam E75 at AED 399 are the two we recommend most at either end of that range.
What's the cheapest rechargeable torch you sell?
The Olight imini 2 at AED 58 on offer. For a rechargeable torch you'd use for more than finding keys, start with the Olight i1R 2 Pro at AED 95 or the Acebeam TAC 2AA at AED 152.
Is a more expensive torch always brighter?
No. The AED 519 X20-R makes 10,000 lumens, while the AED 1,249 K75 2.0 makes 6,500. The K75 2.0 costs more because it reaches 2,716 m. Price follows the job, not the lumen count.
