Updated 2 October 2026. Specs are Acebeam's published figures for the LUXEON HL4X version we sell; our price and stock checked on the day we published.
The Acebeam X20-R is back at Lumens, and it brings a number that's hard to ignore: 10,000 lumens for AED 519. That makes it the cheapest 10,000-lumen light we sell, by a long way. The only other one this size, the Olight Marauder Mini 2, is AED 1,080.
The X20-R is 136 mm long and weighs 293 g with its batteries. Here's what those 10,000 lumens actually get you, how long they last, and who should buy something else.
The 30-second verdict
The X20-R is a floodlight that fits in a jacket pocket. Eight LUXEON HL4X LEDs pour out a wide, even wall of light that reaches 440 metres. It's built for lighting a whole area at once (a yard, a campsite, a loading bay, a beach) rather than one spot far away.
The catch is the same one every small high-output light has: 10,000 lumens lasts about 50 seconds. After that the X20-R steps down to 2,400 lumens and holds it for around 1 hour 20 minutes. Buy it as a 2,400-lumen light that can burst to 10,000, and at AED 519 it's very good value. If you need reach rather than width, buy a thrower instead.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Buy it if you want the most light per dirham we sell, in a body you can carry on a belt or in a jacket. It suits security patrols around compounds and car parks, desert camping, 4x4 trips, power cuts at a villa, and anyone who wants one bright light in the car. The swappable 18650 batteries make it a good choice for long shifts.
Skip it if you need to see a long way. At 440 m it reaches less than the AED 499 Acebeam L35 2.0, which has half the lumens. Skip it too if you want a pocket EDC light for every day: 45.5 mm across the head and nearly 300 g is a lot for trouser pockets.

Acebeam makes the X20-R with three LED options. We stock the LUXEON HL4X version (10,000 lumens, 440 m). The SFT-25R version (8,000 lumens, 645 m) and the CREE XP-LR version (9,000 lumens, 659 m) trade some brightness for more reach. If you see those figures elsewhere, they're for a different light from the one we sell.
The toggle switch: three lights in one

The X20-R's best idea is a three-position toggle next to the tail switch. You choose what the button does before you press it:
- Duty: a half press steps through Low, Med1, Med2, High and Turbo. This is the everyday setting.
- Ultra Low and SOS: a half press gives 90 lumens for 28 hours, and a full press sends SOS. This is the setting to leave it on in the car or the emergency bag.
- Tactical: a half press goes straight to Turbo, and a full press goes straight to Strobe. No cycling through modes when you need the full output now.
A mechanical lock stops the light switching itself on in a bag. That matters with a light this bright: 10,000 lumens against the inside of a backpack gets hot quickly.
Every mode, as Acebeam rates it
| Mode | Output | Beam distance | Runtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turbo | 10,000 → 2,400 → 170 lm | 440 m | 50 s + 1 h 20 min + 20 min |
| High | 2,100 → 170 lm | 180 m | 1.7 h + 20 min |
| Med2 | 850 → 170 lm | 120 m | 4.5 h + 20 min |
| Med1 | 450 → 170 lm | 85 m | 8 h + 20 min |
| Low | 170 lm | 58 m | 18 h |
| Ultra Low | 90 lm | 40 m | 28 h |
| Strobe | 10,000 → 2,400 lm | – | 3 min + 3 h |
| SOS | 10,000 → 2,000 lm | – | 3 min + 3.5 h |
The 50-second catch, and what you really live with
Ten thousand lumens from a 136 mm body is a lot of heat in a small space, so the X20-R does what every light this size does: it bursts, then steps down. Acebeam is honest about it and publishes the whole curve. You get 10,000 lumens for about 50 seconds, then 2,400 lumens for about 80 minutes, then 170 lumens for the last 20 minutes.
That 2,400-lumen stage is the real light. Acebeam doesn't publish a beam distance for it. Its High mode, 2,100 lumens, is rated at 180 m, so expect something close to 200 m once Turbo steps down (our estimate, not Acebeam's figure). For lighting a campsite or a compound, 2,400 lumens is plenty. It's still more than the L35 2.0's 1,800-lumen High mode.
Use Turbo the way it's designed: a few seconds to sweep an area or find something, then back down. Our turbo lumens article explains why no small torch can hold its peak.
Why 10,000 lumens only reaches 440 m
Beam distance depends on candela, how tightly the light is packed, not on lumens. The X20-R spreads its 10,000 lumens across eight LEDs: 48,400 candela, which is exactly where the 440 m comes from. The L35 2.0 puts 5,000 lumens through one LED and reaches 650 m. The Marauder Mini 2 adds a separate spotlight to reach 750 m.
That isn't a fault. A wide beam is what you want when the job is lighting everything around you at once. Our flood vs throw guide shows the difference, and the lumens, candela and beam distance explainer covers the maths.

Against the Marauder Mini 2, the X20-R matches the headline 10,000 lumens and almost the same sustained level for less than half the price. It's also 172 g lighter, and you can swap its batteries on the spot, where the Marauder's cell is built in. What the extra AED 561 buys on the Olight is versatility: a separate spotlight that reaches 750 m, a red light, a side light and a stepless dial. If you want one light that floods and throws, that's the Marauder. Our Marauder Mini 2 review covers it in detail.
Against the L35 2.0, the prices are almost the same and the lights are built for different jobs. The X20-R gives twice the peak output and more light after step-down. The L35 2.0 reaches 210 m further, is lighter, has a strike bezel and is rated to 5 m underwater. Patrolling a big site where you need to see to the far fence: L35 2.0. Lighting the area you're standing in: X20-R. Read the L35 2.0 review for more.
If you need even more sustained light than 2,400 lumens, the Acebeam X25 (AED 1,239) is the step up, but at 1,073 g it's a light you bring, not one you carry.
Batteries, charging and UAE heat

The X20-R runs on two standard 18650 cells, both included, and charges over USB-C on the light itself, so your phone cable works. Because the cells come out, a charged spare pair gives you another full run in a minute. That's the practical advantage over a light with a sealed battery. Keep spares in a case, never loose with keys or coins; our spare battery guide explains why.
A 100 W driver and two lithium-ion cells don't belong in a parked car in July. Heat shortens Turbo further and wears the cells. Carry the light in with you, and read our summer heat guide before a desert trip.
Our verdict
The Acebeam X20-R is the cheapest way to get 10,000 lumens in your hand in the UAE, and it's honest about how long they last. Treat it as a 2,400-lumen floodlight with a 50-second boost, and it's an excellent light for patrols, camping, 4x4 trips and the car. The toggle switch makes it easy to use under pressure, and the swappable 18650s keep it going through a long night. If you need reach, buy the L35 2.0 or a thrower. If you want flood and spot in one light and don't mind paying twice as much, buy the Marauder Mini 2.
