The Olight Baton 3 Pro Max is the big-battery member of the Baton family — a 114 mm pocket torch built around a 5,000 mAh 21700 cell, putting out up to 2,500 lumens with a 145-metre beam. We stock it in OD Green, cool white.
Why people pick the Baton 3 Pro Max
- 2,500 lumens from a pocket light: the brightest single-cell Baton we carry, with a wide, usable beam rather than a narrow spot.
- Shake to Wake: a quick shake lights up the battery indicator, so you can check charge and find the side switch in the dark without turning the torch on.
- Upgraded proximity sensor: it still throttles the output if the lens is blocked in a bag or pocket, but it is far less twitchy than earlier versions — and you can disable it temporarily or permanently.
- Recessed side switch: larger and easier to find by feel, while being harder to trigger by accident.
- Magnetic tail: charges in about 4 hours on the included MCC3 magnetic cable, and sticks to the metal L-stand or any steel surface for hands-free light.
- IPX8 and 148 g: fully waterproof, and light enough to forget in a jacket pocket.
The honest part: what 2,500 lumens actually means
Olight’s own runtime table says Level 1 runs 2,500 lumens for 1 minute, then 800 lumens for the next 240 minutes. That is normal — every torch this size steps down as it heats, and 800 lumens for four hours is genuinely useful. But buy it as an 800-lumen light with a 2,500-lumen burst, not as a 2,500-lumen light. We put every torch we sell through the same test in our guide to how long each torch really holds its headline number.
Two other things worth knowing before you buy: the 5,000 mAh 21700 cell is a customised Olight unit, so you cannot drop in a standard 21700 from a drawer; and the OD Green finish is cool white only — the neutral and warm white options exist on the black body, which we do not currently stock.

How it compares to the rest of the Baton range
If you want the same shape in something smaller and cheaper, the Baton 4 is 52 g and 1,300 lumens on a tiny 16340 cell. The Baton 4 Pro sits between them at 1,600 lumens on an 18650. The Baton 3 Pro Max is the one to buy when runtime matters more than pocket size — the 21700 is what buys you those four hours at 800 lumens.
