It ships with a rechargeable 14500 lithium cell for its full 550 lumens, but the moment that runs flat you can drop in a single AA from any petrol station in the UAE and keep going. Add a genuinely high-colour-accuracy LED and you have a small light that punches above its AED 128 price. Here is our honest take — including the bits Acebeam does not put on the box.

What it is: A tiny (94.8 mm, 54.6 g) single-cell EDC torch with a CRI ≥90 Nichia 219F LED, three brightness levels and true dual-fuel power — a rechargeable 14500 USB-C cell or a standard AA.
Best for: Anyone who wants accurate colour (electricians, mechanics, hobbyists, first-aid, photographers) and the peace of mind that they can always find a battery.
The catch: The headline 550 lumens comes from the included 14500 cell; on a plain AA the top end drops noticeably, and Acebeam does not publish an IP water-resistance rating for this light.

Who it is for (and who should look elsewhere)
Buy it if you value what the light shows you as much as how far it reaches: seeing the real colour of a wire, a wound, a paint match, food that is off, or skin under first-aid. Buy it if you travel or keep a torch for emergencies and want a light that never leaves you hunting for a proprietary cell — a 30-fils AA is everywhere.

The real headline: colour, not lumens
Nearly every budget torch — including several we sell — uses a cool-white emitter around 6500K with a colour rendering index (CRI) in the 65–70 range. That means the beam is bright but colours look washed out and slightly blue. The Pokelit AA uses a Nichia 219F rated CRI ≥90 at a neutral ~5000K, and the difference is immediately obvious the first time you point it at anything coloured.
Why care in the UAE? A mechanic can tell a corroded green earth wire from a blue neutral. A parent can see whether a rash is red or just shadow. A jeweller or abaya shopper can judge a true colour indoors under bad mall lighting. Chicken that has turned looks grey under a cheap torch and unmistakably off under this one. The second trick: it runs on anything
The Pokelit AA is what enthusiasts call a “dual-fuel” light. In the box you get an Acebeam 14500 lithium cell with a built-in USB-C port — you charge the battery directly with any phone cable, no cradle and no separate charger. That 3.6V cell is what unlocks the full 550 lumens.
Run it flat on a long trip and you are not stuck: unscrew the tail, drop in a single AA — alkaline from a supermarket or a rechargeable NiMH — and the torch keeps working. Be honest about the trade-off, though: a 1.5V AA cannot push the same current as the lithium cell, so the top brightness falls back (Acebeam does not publish the exact AA figure on this listing). Think of it as “full power on 14500, get-me-home power on AA.” For a travel light, a glovebox light or an emergency-drawer light in a country where AA is sold on every corner, that flexibility is worth more than another 200 lumens. Note the honest detail in Acebeam’s own numbers: High is quoted as 550→330 lumens. Like almost every compact light, the 550 is a short turbo burst before heat forces it down to a sustainable ~330 — still plenty from something this size. The catches, stated plainly
We would not send you in blind. Four things to know:
- 550 lumens needs the lithium cell. On a plain AA the top output drops — brilliant for flexibility, but do not expect 550 lumens from a supermarket battery.
- No published IP rating. Acebeam does not list a water-resistance figure for the Pokelit AA on this listing. It will shrug off splashes and dust in normal pocket use, but if you need documented waterproofing, read our IP-rating guide and consider an IPX8 option like the Olight i1R 2 Pro.
- It is a flood light, not a thrower. 86 metres and 1,849 cd is a soft, wide beam for close and mid-range tasks — not for spotting across open desert.
- Big gaps between modes. Three levels only — 5, 190, 550 — with nothing between 5 and 190. There is no sub-lumen moonlight mode.
